Corn on the cob and Ribs

Tanner was sharing his pie with Landon and I just love the way he wraps his chubby little hands around Tanner's arm begging him for another bite.

We had a great dinner but I don't think Grandma and Grandpa will be too eager to have us back since the twins made a huge mess. Thank goodness Sadie (their dog) was eager to clean up all the scraps the twins dropped.

We went to my mom and dads for dinner tonight to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had a great dinner of corn on the cob and ribs and apple pie and the twins couldn't get enough. They enjoyed gnawing on the bones and eating corn right off the cob. Apparently when I was a year old we were traveling around Europe and my grandma gave me a rib bone to gnaw on and it kept me busy during a late night dinner, it works well and they loved it.

The ZOO

They loved the baby lambs
And the goats, Sienna tried to give this goat a sip of water from her cup

The lion, we heard this guy roaring for quite a while and wow what a noise
The giraffes, Sienna was not too sure about feeding this guy but Landon liked it and even wanted to pet him after, unfortunately that is not allowed so the one year old got reprimanded by the zoo keeper
I just thought this monkey looked so funny just like the twins trying to get out of their play room
Last Sunday we spent a fun family day at the zoo in Boise. The twins had so much fun and were really into the animals. Their favorites were at the farm exhibit where they had goats and sheep I think because they were smaller and not quite so intimidating. They got to feed giraffes, see lions and tigers, lots of monkeys and some cool birds. It is not a huge zoo but perfect for a morning outing and lunch we can't wait to take them back when it is not quite so hot.

This is what Landon did most of the time, sat there and whined

First time in the pool

I finally had time to get the twins pool out and let them go for a swim. It is so much work to get the two of them into swimsuits and sunscreen and take out towels and toys and then the twins. I can't of course leave them for even a second to run back in to grab anything so it takes some real planning. It is also hard to get them both outside and then in the pool and then when they are done both dried off without one of them running and rolling in the grass or running in the house all wet so I am not anxious to do this everyday but I think they had fun. Sienna was running all over the pool and then would fall, head first into the water and look up surprised but excited that she was all wet and Landon was not too sure he felt safe but as long as Mommy was close by and playing with him he was ok. I really only want to get them in the pool when I have another set of hands to help.

Ooh cows, Landon and Sienna are both working on their mooing but can pick a cow out of a bag of farm animals.

Even though it is crazy hot out we decided to take the twins to the Elmore County Fair last week to see the animals and have lunch. This is a really small fair so it only took an hour which was plenty of time since it was so hot. They got to see cows, sheep, llamas and pigs but seemed most interested in the sheep. We went in the exhibition building where the huge fan was a big hit because there is no air conditioning. We went to our favorite little restraunt The Stop and had a great lunch but skipped the fair food. None of the rides were open yet and there were very few booths but we had a fun family outing. We'll seee if we make it to the big fair in Boise since that is the week of my scheduled c-section.

Happy 4th of July

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Maynes for a BBQ on the 4th and had a great dinner but Landon's favorite was my Smore's Pie, he had such a sweet tooth.Grandma Wing and Landon on the 4th of July in the park
Grandma Mayne and Sienna cuddling on the 4th of July, yes it was a little chilly in the park
I know it has been another long time since my last post but I have a good excuse. We are officially moved into our new house(no I don't have any pictures yet). We closed on our other house yesterday (yea!) so now we are focusing on finding a place for all our stuff and getting our house organized. I can't wait till all that is done I just can't relax in all the chaos. I am trying to get used to all the extra walking but it is quite a hike from our room to the kids at the end of the hall especially since I did something to my foot which makes any walking quite difficult I am hoping to get in to see an accupuncturist soon to see if that will help. The twins are growing like crazy I can't believe they are 13 months now. Sienna is walking and trying to run all over the place and is quite stable on her feet. Landon is still quite unsteady on his feet and prefers to crawl but we are encouraging him to walk more with his shopping cart and he is getting better. They have both taken to biting recently which is a real pain. Sienna bites when she is angry, frustrated or tired and usually bites Landon on the arm but she has tried to bite me. Landon doesn't seem to bite out of anger or frustration just when he thinks it might feel good on his gums and I seem to be an available target. We are working on stopping this. They have both adjusted to our new home faster than expected and have been real troopers about letting us get stuff done.

I can't remember if he was upset that he wasn't sitting in the wagon or that we made him stand on his own. He still has no interest in walking.

Grandma Wing brought Tanner's old wagon and the twins had fun riding around the park in it

Landon loved the rootbeer float even grabbing a handful of it as we walked back to our seats
Sienna loved the rootbeer float, but what a mess as soon as they handed them to us they started foaming over so we had to drink fast.

Tanner and Landon on the 4th of July, we went to the park for the annual car show and had a great time.
Since we were trying to pack up the kitchen I just let the kids play in there while we packed, suddenly I saw Sienna in the pantry with a jar of crisco playing in it. She tried to eat it but decided that was disgusting so she took it out of her mouth and threw it at the wall. She looked so cute I had to run and find the camera before she made too big of a mess.

We have been trying to find some time to do fun things with the kids since we have been so busy moving and packing and they have been cooped up in the house so we have been going to the park. Landon is not too sure about the swings or the slide but he does enjoy sitting on the park bench with his juice cup enjoying the sunshine.
Sienna loves the park especially the swings and gets quite upset when it is time to go home and she has to get out. She does not like to put her feet in the sand and lifts them up in protest.
