An update, finally!

I know it's been a long time since I've updated our blog so here's what you missed. Sometime between 25 and 26 weeks I started having some contractions nothing very regular but definitely noticeable they became more frequent and so at work one night I put on the contraction monitor to see how often they were and how long they were lasting. The next morning I ran into my doctor on my way home and she suggested coming to the office for a fetal fibronectin test which is done mostly for reassurance that you will not go into labor and deliver in the next 2 weeks if it comes back negative, which thank goodness it did. A few days later at our regular scheduled appointment the contractions were continuing but thankfully not causing any cervical change. She measured my belly and said jokingly well congratulations you're term which meant my belly is measuring 38 cm or if I was carrying one baby 38 weeks, no wonder my body thinks it's time to start contracting! I can't believe I'm as big now as I would be at term with one baby and I still have about 10 weeks to go. Both babies looked great on ultrasound but we will now be going to weekly ob appointments so that as soon as these contractions start to make cervical change I can be started on medication and modified bedrest. But for now I am able to continue working 3, 8 hour shifts a week, which believe me is plenty I am exhausted by the time I get home.

Baby A weighed approximately 2 lbs 2 oz, HR 140, still breech and of course active as ever.

Baby B weighed approximately 2 lbs 5 oz (Tanner was thrilled that he is finally bigger than his sister), HR 150, was vertex(head down), and also very active.

My belly at 27 weeks, I'm glad I don't feel as big as I look :)

I think you're belly is adorable! I'm glad the babies are growing well and I'm sure that Clint would have been proud to say that the boy was bigger than the girl too. (Just a reminder, I hate calling them the Boy and the Girl - they need names!) Just kidding, those will come in time.

Can you believe you're almost 31 weeks now? I am just dying to meet the little kiddos! I guess I can hold out if it means only about 6 or 7 more weeks! Your baby shower should be interesting... :) I'm excited!
